The Rosary and Altar Society
2011 Advent Party will be held in the Parish Hall on Saturday, December 10 after 4 PM Mass.
The Rosary and Altar Society has been active at Most Precious Blood since 1957. The primary purpose of the Society is “to praise and honor the Blessed Virgin Mary and to secure her patronage by the recitation of the Rosary”.
This women’s organization has both devotional and service goals. Members are encouraged to pray the Rosary daily and to frequently receive the Sacraments. On the third Sunday of the month, the Society prays the Rosary before the 8:00 a.m. Mass. Meetings are held in the parish hall following the Mass. In addition to discussing parish activities, these meetings provide a means through which women of the parish may meet, socialize, and provide support for one another. Through the various special events we sponsor during the year, we seek to make a financial contribution to the parish, especially for the needs of the altar, and also to provide our fellow parishioners with enjoyable opportunities to get together with each other.
Spiritual benefits are a part of the Rosary and Altar Society membership with a Mass being offered each month for all members, living and deceased, and a memorial Mass at the time of a member’s death. Members of the Rosary and Altar Society gather at church prior to the funeral Mass for the deceased member to pray the Rosary.
Women of the parish from all age groups, 17 years of age and older, are invited to join the Rosary and Altar Society. If you are interested in becoming a member or learning more about our organization by attending one of our meetings, please contact the rectory at 549-0420.
